Did I Tell You I Believe in Angels?

Jan 14, 2018 | 0 comments

Jogging through the white and black hues of winter’s early mornings, it is easier for me to hear the whispers of angels than during “office hours.” I say that tongue-in-cheek as I have not worked in a formal office for almost thirteen years. But my mind is slow to change. It worries, plans, chatters, and disrupts the heavenly airwaves the minute I turn on the computer, check my phone for texts, or engage in other normal activities of daily living.

Dawn is my hour to listen to angels. And the angels have been whispering sabbatical.

I began posting a monthly blog five-and-a-half years ago. Primarily focused on issues facing the Great Lakes, the blogs began as acts of joy—as well as responsibility. The more I learned about the challenges facing the world’s largest
body of fresh surface water, the more I wanted to help.

But it is time for a change. Not focus, necessarily. But change. And so, I am removing the self-induced pressure to post a blog and poem every month for the next six months and using that time to re-evaluate my artistic path, to learn new technology, and to explore different forms of communication . . . to include the introduction of my new book:

Uncharted Waters: Romance, Adventure and Advocacy on the Great Lakes.

You’ll still hear from me—as deadlines ensure I am at the writing table. And things may look different—like my new, secure email notification. But one thing won’t change: my commitment to speaking my truth to you, a reader I respect and appreciate. Thank you for hanging with me during this interim time.
