How thrilled 
I was 
watching 
the dark paws
of the red fox 
prancing
across the 
farmyard
at dawn.
 
How badly 
I felt for the 
slaughtered 
chickens 
 
and 
for the farmer
who gifted us 
eggs
when we 
first arrived
 
and how hard 
it was 
to discover 
the chickens
and tell 
the farmer
and still cherish
the red fox
that pranced 
across the
farmyard
at dawn.
