Our decision to remain in the same place for a week or so at a time as we explore Ireland was just what I needed. I do not feel like a tourist, more like one discovering the secrets of a new home. Every journey by foot. Every trip out the red door of this historic Alms House, down the uneven stone steps and through the iron gate an adventure beyond the imaginable.
I have never been prolific at writing poems but I am writing, each poem a long ascent up a hill, most in a misty rain as I search for answers on how I want to spend my time this next segment of life. But the wildflowers are in bloom! And the birds are mating! And everything is so very green! Including, I suspect caps and shirts today—as the country begins a two-day celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
